A proposed new 100,000 bbl/d capacity refinery project by CNPC at Abu Khashab is currently under contract following Oil and gas, of course. Arguably, Syria isn't a major producer of oil and gas. Depletion of oil reserves is a vital problem facing the energy sector of the country. The oil production has decreased over the years.
